So here I am. At my laptop. This is my first ever blog post. I'm feeling nervous, yet excited. I hope you all enjoy my posts. I am VERY opinionated. I will piss you off. I do it to everybody. Conservatives call me a Liberal and Liberals call me a Conservative. I like to think that tells me I am in "my spot". I don't have to agree with you to be your friend. We can just concentrate on what we have in common.. For example, I don't buy into the "globalclimatechaneywarmey" thing, but I DO support alternative energy FOR THE INDIVIDUAL. I do not support granting Big Energy money to build windmills.
I support REAL, not government-approved, organic farming practices. Why, you ask? Because they are better ECONOMICALLY. Its actually cheaper to use compost over chemical fertilizers.
I am Athiest. I support a Christian baker's right to not make a gay-themed cake. I think its silly for a gay couple to drive past 50 bakeries just to have a reason to sue the ONE baker in the state that won't bake the cake they want because of his religious convictions. (If he is a bigot, just tell everyone. His business will eventually fail.)
I am a Veteran of the US Navy. I was in my last two years of my 6-year enlistment when Iraq invaded Kuwait. I saw no actual combat.
I believe in the US Constitution. Free speech for everyone. Even "Antifa" and the KLAN. I don't care if you agree with me. As an American, you have the right to speak your mind. Even if you are a dumbass kid or a bigot. Neither of you assholes has the right to physically attack someone.
I think every citizen has the right to be armed at all times and a "permit" is asking government permission to exercise a right. That goes for felons, too. If we didn't limit their freedoms after releasing them from prison, many would not go back to crime and end up back in the system. If they are such a threat to society that they cannot be armed, then keep them in prison.
I believe in alternative medicine. Not necessarily as a substitute, but as a tool to use alongside modern medicine. (Like Jack Spirko says, (And I am paraphrasing) "If I have a yield sign sticking out of my chest, call a surgeon, not a herbalist." But, I think we are too quick to reach for a pill instead of making an herbal tea from our herb garden. (Do you realize its ILLEGAL in the US to advertise that your "Brand X Vitamin C will cure scurvy". Its not a "drug", so legally it can't cure anything. Just like Cannibis, (Marijuana) has MANY medicinal properties, but the drug companies lobby to keep it illegal all the while they work like hell to synthesize a substitute that they can patent.
I hope this entertains you and helps you think a little more about the things we accept as normal. Most of the accepted "Normals" are a lie.
